These are very strange times indeed and I hope you and your families are safe and well.
Despite everything that is going on at the minute schools have to plan for the future and therefore I am writing to you to update you on a key appointment for the school.
When we formed Prosper Learning Trust in January 2018 my role changed from Headteacher of Newcastle Bridges School to becoming the CEO of the Trust, a role focusing on developing the organisation. I also became Executive Headteacher of Newcastle Bridges School (NBS) and Mary Astell Academy (MAA), essentially Headteacher of both schools. To support me in running the schools the Head of School posts were created. Mr Stafford was appointed at NBS and Mrs Spowart at MAA.
However since then, Thomas Bewick School has joined the Trust and in September we are opening our fourth school, Harry Watts Academy in Sunderland. As we grow and develop the dual role of CEO and Executive Headteacher is no longer sustainable.
I am therefore delighted to inform you that Mr Christopher Richardson has been appointed as the Executive Headteacher of NBS and MAA. Mr Richardson will take up post on June 1st 2020. Mr Richardson brings a wealth of headship experience and I am really looking forward to working with him.
The day to day running of the schools will now be Mr Richardson’s responsibility, supported by Mr Stafford and Mrs Spowart. I will now focus on my role as CEO of the Trust.
It has been a great pleasure to be Headteacher of both Newcastle Bridges School and Mary Astell Academy.
Thank you for all your support.
CEO Prosper Learning Trust
