Prosper Primary Visit Northumberlandia

Northumberlandia, the Lady of the North is a sculpture made of 1.5 million tonnes of rock, clay and soil, she is 100 feet high and a quarter of a mile long. When the primary pupils went to visit they explored the paths, charged up the hills and admired the views. From on top of the lady’s head you could see the surface coal mine in operation with all the huge machines hard at work. The pupils had great fun out in the fresh air learning about how the sculpture was made and getting a fabulous new viewpoint over the local landscape.
